1957 Ford Fairlane convertible, 1961 Ford Thunderbird and other clean used cars

The '77 Malibu from my last post was from the Shoreline used car dealer who happens to sell a lot of vintage cars. Don't know where he gets them.

Ford sold more cars in 1957 than Chevy, but a '57 Bel Air convertible is worth three times as much as the Fairlane convertible from that year.

There's no mistaking a Thunderbird for any other car.

More from the bigger is better era: 1962 Chevrolet Impala with 283 v-8.

1977 Chevrolet El Camino. If the classic car-truck is your jam, and you're on a budget.

1965 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport

The '65 Impala was a great looking car, but I feel like it was all down hill from here. After that year, the Impala kept getting bigger. (Why? This car is huge!) It also started getting a more "formal" look. By 1971, forget it - that Impala was a land yacht.
* '65 was the last year for the round tail lights.
* The Super Sport package did not automatically mean a big V-8. Some Impala SS cars have a straight 6!

1963 Chevrolet Impala

Chevrolet was on top of the world in 1963, selling more than 2.2 million cars. Fully one-third of those were the big, big Impala.

Observations:
* Cars don't rust much in Seattle, but this Chevy is in remarkable condition for an unrestored car.
* Chevy offered 4 engines in this car, and a different fender badge for each car:
     ** 6-cylinder: Shield with a number 6.
     ** 283 V-8: V with a small shield (as on this car).
** 327 V-8: As the 283 above, with Chevy and checkered flags.
     ** 409 V-8: As the 327 above, with '409' badge.
* That bumper sticker, 'Au-H2O-64'. That's a Goldwater for President sticker.
