Not Dead Yet: 1951 Ford F3, 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe, 1952 Chevrolet Styleline, 1946 Mack E-Series

The three vehicles on the street all appear to be in working order. I once saw the Chevy homebrew El Camino driving downtown.

1984 Chrysler Town & Country Station Wagon

Some things get better with age. Chrysler's Town and Country models of the 1940s, cars with beautiful wood bodies, are highly-desired collectibles. On the other hand, cars with fake wood paneling made out of plastic and vinyl? These are not cars that turn heads; at least not in a good way. This car wasn't attractive when new, and now that time has had its way with it, well, the results speak for themselves.

In the 80s, Chrysler attempted to gaslight the public into believing that it's K-car platform could be adapted to pretty much anything. For example, the goofy-looking Imperial of 1989, with a limousine body grafted onto a too-small front-drive platform.

1968 Chevrolet C10 Pickup Truck

This post is a reader submission, and not actually in Seattle. But it's my blog and I'm making an exception. Note the wood bed. My father's '77 Chevy pickup had one. Apparently they were available as late as 1987.

1955 Ford F100 Pickup Truck

The 1953-56 F100 is the collector truck everybody wants. This one has a straight-6. It's a good candidate for a restoration - F100's upgraded with modern components (especially power steering and disc brakes) are very popular.

1931 Chevrolet AE Independence

On this miserable smoky day in Seattle, I saw something good. This car is done up vintage hot rod style. The owner told me the engine is a '56 Buick V-8.
